The parties
These terms apply to every sign ordered on this site. The seller is Ludovic Zammit, a private individual selling under his own name (see the legal notice). The buyer is the person who sends the request and accepts the quote. By accepting the quote you accept these terms; the date and time of your acceptance are stored with your order.

The designer and the quote
The 3D preview and the estimated price shown in the designer are estimates. The binding price is the one in the quote sent by email, after your design has been checked by hand. The quote states the price in CAD, taxes if any, and the shipping fee if you choose shipping.
A quote is valid for 30 days from the day it is sent, unless the quote itself says otherwise. After that you can still accept it and the workshop confirms or adjusts the price before starting.
The workshop may decline a request, for example when the sign cannot be made properly at the size wanted or when the content is a problem (see “Intellectual property”).
Order and payment
The order is formed when you accept the quote and pay a deposit of 50% of the total, by card on a secure Stripe page. Production starts only once that deposit is received.
The balance is due before shipping for a delivery, or at pickup. You can pay it online from the link in the email, or by e-transfer or in person. A shipped sign leaves as soon as the balance is received.
Card details are handled by Stripe and never pass through this site.
Custom-made goods, cancellation and refunds
Every sign is made to your specification: your text or logo, your font, your colours, your size. It has no value to anyone else. For that reason:
- If you are a consumer in the European Union, the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised (Directive 2011/83/EU, article 16(c); in France, article L221-28 3° of the Consumer Code).
- In Québec, the distance-contract cancellation rules of the Consumer Protection Act (sections 54.8 and following) apply when the merchant fails its obligations, for instance by not delivering within the agreed time. They do not create a right of return for a custom-made item that matches the quote.
What the workshop applies outside those cases:
- If you cancel before printing starts, or the workshop finds it cannot make the sign, the deposit is refunded in full.
- Once printing has started, the deposit is kept: it covers the material and time already spent.
- If the workshop cancels the order, everything you paid is refunded.
Refunds go back by the same means as the payment, within 14 days.
Making and delivery
The lead time given in the emails is an estimate; the workshop tells you if something delays it. You get an email when printing starts, when the sign is ready, and when it ships.
For shipping, the fee is shown on the quote (currently 25 CAD) and the tracking number is emailed to you. The risk of loss or damage passes to you when the parcel is handed over. Report any damage on receipt, with photos, within 48 hours.
For pickup, the sign is handed over at the address given by email.
Warranty
The sign carries Québec's legal warranty of quality: it must be fit for its purpose for a reasonable time (Consumer Protection Act, sections 37 and 38; Civil Code of Québec, articles 1726 and following). Consumers in the European Union have the legal guarantee of conformity of their country.
The electronic parts (LED strip, controller, power supply) are covered by that same legal warranty, and by it alone: the workshop offers no extra commercial warranty. Signs are made for indoor use, powered by the supply provided. Damage from a fall, moisture, modification or another power supply is not covered.
If something is wrong, write to the workshop with photos: depending on the case the piece is reprinted, repaired, or the sign replaced.
Intellectual property
You warrant that you hold the rights to the text, logo and files you provide, and you answer for any third-party claim about them. The workshop may refuse content that is plainly infringing, hateful or unlawful.
The print files generated from your design remain the workshop's and are not supplied.
The workshop may photograph finished signs for its portfolio and this site. If you would rather it did not, say so in the note when you send the request or accept the quote, or by email: your sign will not be shown.
Personal information
What the site keeps, why and for how long is described in the privacy policy.
If we disagree
Write to the workshop first (zamsignled@gmail.com): most problems are sorted out in a few emails.
In Québec you can turn to the Office de la protection du consommateur. Failing agreement, the courts of Québec have jurisdiction, subject to the mandatory rules that protect you, including the Small Claims Division.
If you are a consumer in the European Union you can also use an out-of-court dispute resolution body in your country; the European Consumer Centres Network points you to it. The European online dispute resolution (ODR) platform was closed in July 2025.
